Florian Boehm: Baummenschen

Die in den letzten beiden Jahren wieder verstärkte Auseinandersetzung der Menschen mit ihrer sie umgebenden Natur in ihrem engsten Umfeld, genauso wie die globale Thematisierung des „Zurück zur Natur“-Gedankens und einem verstärkten Bekenntnis zu Umweltschutz, Maßnahmen gegen die Klimaerwärmung und einer Hinwendung zu erneuerbarer Energie, lassen sich auch in der Biographie des Künstlers Florian Boehm bemerken: Sein Zweitwohnsitz auf einem alten Bauernhof im niederösterreichischen Mostviertel wird in den kommenden Jahren neben seiner künstlerischen Tätigkeit auch wieder ein Ort eines ökologisch-landwirtschaftlichen Betriebes sein. Die Hinwendung zu einem Bekenntnis zur Natur widerspiegelt sich auch in den aktuellen Arbeiten: Die neu entstandene Serie „Baummenschen“ trägt den Gedanken der Menschheit in sich und soll auch in seinem übergeordneten Werktitel auf den Einklang des einzelnen Menschen mit dem Baum als Symbol des Lebens hinweisen. Der Baum trägt nicht nur zur Erhaltung der Atmosphäre und damit der Lebensgrundlage des Menschen bei, sondern bietet auch Nahrung, Rohstoff für den Hausbau und lässt einen – als Brennmaterial verwendet -nicht erfrieren beziehungsweise wärmt das Essen. Florian Boehm sieht in seinem Bekenntnis zur Natur und der Zukunft des Menschen auch einen essentiellen Teil in seinem Leben: Die Natur als Lehrmeisterin und Quelle der Inspiration, die nur im Einklang funktionieren kann.

People’s renewed concern with the nature that surrounds them in their closest environment in the last two years, as well as the global thematisation of the „back to nature“ idea and an increased commitment to environmental protection, measures against global warming and a turn to renewable energy, can also be noticed in the biography of the artist Florian Boehm: his second home on an old farm in the Lower Austrian Mostviertel will in the coming years, in addition to his artistic activity, also be a place of an ecological agricultural business again. The turn towards a commitment to nature is also reflected in his current works: The newly created series „Baummenschen“ (Tree People) carries the idea of humanity and is also intended in its overarching work title to refer to the harmony of the individual human being with the tree as a symbol of life. The tree not only contributes to the preservation of the atmosphere and thus the basis of human life, but also provides food, raw material for building houses and – used as fuel – does not let you freeze to death or warms your food. Florian Boehm sees his commitment to nature and the future of mankind as an essential part of his life: Nature as a teacher and source of inspiration that can only function in harmony.
